
While he is no gourmand, my office staff of one, namely, Bello, provides free-spirited conversations relating chiefly to food. It is, I think it fair to say, his main preoccupation. Discussions, which tend to be one-sided, I’ll admit, nonetheless provide us both with a good feeling and a broad sense of well-being. The refrigerator opens: Out waft aromas of Emmental, ground veal, and smoked salmon. Then all seems right in the world. A dog has its priorities in order.
